I have been doing my family tree for quite a few years on ancestry.com and am eager to find out more about one rascally ancestor, who`s information has strangely disappeared over the years. His name is Thomas Vincent hatherley from the 1800s
WikiTree profile: Sheila Ryan
in The Tree House by Sheila Ryan G2G Crew (640 points)
son of George Hatherly and Sarah Vincent

born August 26, 1810

died December 20, 1858

married Louisa Phillips
Yes,that is the person.I have lots of documented evidence for his colourful life, but cannot find a marriage certificate and I have tried everywhere.I have  "seen" but did not save it and now it has disappeared.Supposedly married Louisa Phillips at St.George`s barracks,St Martin in the fields in the year 1840 ( July) though there is no certificate to verify. How do I find one? GRO do not have it.

I had a look on ancestry.co.uk and FreeBMD, but could not find a marriage record of any sort.

There is a lot of other information.

1841 census at St George's Barracks.  1851 census at Cranbrook, Kent.  Later censuses for his widow, Louisa. Baptisms & marriages for children etc etc.

His discharge from the army in 1849, aged 39, is at National Archives  ( & Findmypast ) https://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/C8701530

He died 20 Dec 1858 at St Martin’s Hall, Longacre, Middlesex.  They lived at 14 Cochrane Terrace, St John’s Wood.  Letters of Administration ( ie he left no will ), were granted  7 April 1859.

That’s not the correct marriage.

We are looking for a marriage of Thomas and Louisa. The Bristol one is Thomas Hatherly, Labourer, marrying Sarah Hewett Lewis. https://www.ancestry.co.uk/sharing/23209870?h=8fbab4&utm
