Where is Tasmanian convict James Cole?

Hi

I'm looking for James Cole, born c.1811; lived in Dorset, England, where he committed his crime in 1839. Transported to Van Dieman's Land, arriving on the Canton in 1840, with sentence of 15 years. There is a record in the Tasmanian Library, which gives details and confirms his conditional pardon in 1849. He was free to leave VDL after 1854. The Library has no information on James's fate. Tasmanian register of deaths, etc, has no search facility, so I can't even look for possibilities to make speculative purchases. Any suggestions would be most welcome. Many thanks.

Yes, stealing coal from a vessell at Wareham, the property of Messrs Pike.  This was the crime for which he received the sentence of 15 years transportation in 1839.

The 1837 crime was stealing turf from William Torrefield of Wareham.

I can't see ancestry.  I assume there is no home address given for James in either of these registers?  It would be very unusual to be specific on home details.  I would be very happy if it said "Lady St Mary, Wareham, Dorset" or similar?

I don't think the Census or burial records are the same man.  His wife referred to herself as a widow by 1861 and never remarried - if James did come back to England, he didn't re-unite with his family.
Many thanks for your replies!
