We are in the midst of our most ambitious community event ever: The WikiTree Challenge.
Each week in 2021, a team of WikiTreers is collaborating on the tree of a special genealogy guest star. Our challenge is to make their genealogy more accurate and complete than it is anywhere else. Here are all the details: WikiTree_Challenge.
Can you participate in any of these weeks?
Week 18 May 5-12 Scott Fisher, host of genealogy podcast Extreme Genes.
Week 19 May 12-19 Devon Noel Lee, the "Social One" from Family History Fanatics.
Week 20 May 19-26 Nathan Goodwin, best-selling genealogical mystery crime novelist.
Week 21 May 26-Jun 2 Gena Philibert Ortega, Director at the National Institute of Genealogical Studies.
To register, simply post an answer below (not a comment) and say something like "I want to participate in weeks 18 and 19."
You don't need to be skilled in the records of their ancestor locations. Things you can do to help:
- Write biographies.
- Add categorization.
- Add related resource links.
- Check the G2G post occasionally and notify the captain of questions.
- Keep an eye on Discord in case others need help.
- Upload pictures from the guest.
- Search a paid site you belong to for obituaries and articles.
For more information on how to work during the challenge, see The WikiTree Challenge: Improving Profiles.
