Wives of Samuel Farrand 1680-1750

I am trying to determine exactly how many wives he had and who they were. It seems to be widely accepted that he married at least two sisters, Anna and Sarah Wheeler daughters of Joseph Wheeler. (Wheeler-709).  However nothing besides published genealogies substantiates that. Joseph's will written 25 Jun 1726 and proven 15 Sep 1727 names children Joseph, Justice, Obadiah, Patience Bunnel, Keziah Beardeslee and son-in-law Samuel Farrand. This would lead to the conclusion that both of them had died before his will was written but cannot prove that both of them were Samuel's wives.

Samuel's will written 3 Sep 1747 proven 2 Jan 1750/51 Newark, NJ mentions children Daniel, Samuel, Ebenezer, Nathaniel, Joseph, Sarah, Phebe, Hannah and Elizabeth. He names wife Hannah and sons Samuel, Ebenezer, Nathaniel and Joseph executors. This leads to the conclusion that he probably had a third wife, Hannah.

Anna cannot be the same as the wife Hannah named as executor of Samuel's will or she would likely have been named in her father's will like the other daughters were. Sarah cannot be the first wife as she is thought to the the daughter of Joseph's second wife Dorcas whom he married about 1700.

Any help greatly appreciated.

There are only four entries in the Barbour Collection [Connecticut Vital Records to 1850 (Online Database: AmericanAncestors.org, New England Historic Genealogical Society, 2011.) (From original typescripts, Lucius Barnes Barbour Collection, 1928.)] concerning Samuel:

Samuel s/o Nathaniel Jr. b. 15 Mar 1680/1
Sarah d. of Samuel b. 13 July 1709
Anna w. of Samuel d. 21 July 1709
Hannah. w. of Samuel d. 21 July 1709

Looks like Anna/Hannah died of complications of childbirth, which doesn't really help you much.
Thank you Anne, that confirms my suspicions that the Hannah of his will is not Anna Wheeler and her death date should be changed to 21 Jul 1709. See the discussion on Samuel's profile. Now to figure out if Sarah Wheeler ever existed. I suspect not.
