Let's do some genealogy together on Twitch!

Greetings WikiTreers! I will be livestreaming genealogy content at https://www.twitch.tv/bsktcase starting this Sunday from 10-12 Pacific time. I'll show you how I research, starting with a branch of my own tree, and focusing on free online resources (including, of course, the one you're reading now)! I'll talk about the techniques I've learned over the years and how you can use them too.

Twitch?! Isn't that for video games? Mostly, yes. Which means no one there is looking for genealogy, and genealogists probably aren't looking there either, so all of this is an experiment to see if anyone will show up. :)

I'm tentatively planning to livestream twice a week for a while to see if it catches on before I invest more. Check it out and let me know your feedback!

We did it! A fun first stream. Things we learned:

You can watch the stream without a (free) Twitch account, but will need to create one if you wish to participate in chat - for me, that's the whole point.

With an account, you can follow (which is also free) to be notified when I go live!

Are you recording the stream?

Haha - I wasn't sure what would happen, but the answer is YES! Video is recorded and available on-demand after each stream for some period of time, I think a few weeks.

This week's video-on-demand features a thrilling 11 minutes and 30 seconds of me figuring out my audio settings, feel free to skip over that part. cheeky
