Bonsoir,

Romans-sur-Isère has its own online archive: http://www.archives-ville-romans.fr/Ressources_en_ligne/les_habitants/Genealogie. So no need to write to them and wait for an answer.

Birth of Suzanne Léoncie Serve, 11 Aug 1905 (date on profile is wrong).

Marriage of Émilien Fernand Serve and Émilie Marie Eymin, 27 Apr 1905. He was born on 17 Mar 1883 in Bourg-de-Péage, his parents are Émile Antoine Serve and Alexandrine Ferlin, they were divorced, his mother is deceased and the whereabouts of his father are unknown.

For Bourg-de-Péage, go to Archives départementales de la Drôme.

Birth of Émilien Fernand Serve, 17 Mar 1883. A marginal note gives his date of death, 22 Feb 1965, not quite as on his profile.

Birth of Émile Antoine Serve, and several generations of ancestors, can be found on Geneanet.

Back to Romans, death of Alexandrine Ferlin, 15 Aug 1899 (mentioned in the marriage record of her son). She was born around 1859 in Saint-Marcel-lès-Valence, her parents are Alexandre Ferlin and Julie Junillon.

Then tables décennales of Saint-Marcel-lès-Valence, again in Archives départementales de la Drôme, will give her exact birth date and possibly the marriage of her parents, etc.

Et voilà !

Julien.

Hi Emilien,

Beyond the moving back one generation at a time, you should consider registering with geneanet.com, the leading French genealogy site. I have deep Louisiana-French roots and I have well-researched and -documented family trees that have added to my own tree by quantum leaps.

For instance, I have two distinct lines of Labbe's, one that was born in France and the other that was born in Quebec - even a Quebec genealogical site did not have the answers. Joining is free, but when I paid $12.50 for a three month premium membership, it performed auto-match between my uploaded gedcom with all the other members' and found over 150 extensions of my family tree. On the former case of the Labbe who came directly from France in the early 1800's - it added up to 4 extra generations and up to another 200 years back. I have yet to process the rest.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND geneanet.com, the best genealogical Website of all that I have seen...

Best regards,

Martin

Hi Lawrence, when I started my genealogy this was the first place I went, my three is still there but I could not find the searched person, I have as well my tree on geni.de which was useful too for the german part and French part, I have it on genealogie.com and on my heritage, on my ancestry and on family search so when I block somewhere I search somewhere else and a few days later generally find what I was searching.

Before yesterday, I could find what I was searching here. On My Heritage I will set it on Wikitree soon..

But thanks heaps to your advice
