Hi Emilien,
Beyond the moving back one generation at a time, you should consider registering with geneanet.com, the leading French genealogy site. I have deep Louisiana-French roots and I have well-researched and -documented family trees that have added to my own tree by quantum leaps.
For instance, I have two distinct lines of Labbe's, one that was born in France and the other that was born in Quebec - even a Quebec genealogical site did not have the answers. Joining is free, but when I paid $12.50 for a three month premium membership, it performed auto-match between my uploaded gedcom with all the other members' and found over 150 extensions of my family tree. On the former case of the Labbe who came directly from France in the early 1800's - it added up to 4 extra generations and up to another 200 years back. I have yet to process the rest.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND geneanet.com, the best genealogical Website of all that I have seen...
Best regards,
Martin
