My McDonald ancestors came from Lewis and settled in Bruce County, Ontario.

How about yours?

Perhaps, because I have a very close DNA match at FTDNA with another McDonald family whose ancestors came from Barvas, Isle of Lewis and went to Nova Scotia. Then one branch went on to the US later.

We have created a category for Clan MacDonald  http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:Clan_MacDonald

If you scroll down below the pictures there is a list of some of the major branches and you will find Glencoe and Keppoch. These are just for the Chieftan's families and they are still a work in progress.

My last name is McDonald. I have found relatives back to Canada but I can't make the connection to Scotland. Can you help? I believe the were from the Glencoe or Glenngarry area.
