Hi, Gene.  William is my sixth cousin, twice removed.  Common ancestors are John Kirk and Frances (Mason) Clift.

Any details on the home run?  Was it the highlight of his career? How many years did he play?

He played for Patton's Cats in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The baseball leagues at that time were not the same. Many leagues existed as compared to Major League Baseball today. Sadly, I don't know how long he played or any statistics of his play but I know that he rose to the highest level of league play available in his day. This photo is estimated to be 1920.
