Merging my Abel Shields with Shields 1511

Question

Shields 1511 shows up when I go into my Abel Shields b 1804 Stokes Co., NC  d 1882 Bartholomew Co., IN

Several people have added info on him.  The parents at the top are wrong and therefore the siblings.  So when I try to enter his father, William, it wants me to do a John.

Abel and Nancy (Wood) Shields had four children before her death.  All migrated to Indiana by Dec 1852.  

I think I need to request a merge.  It seems to be already merged without a request.

There are a number of Abel Shields who lived in North Carolina and went to Indiana, some of whom later went to Illinois. Perhaps Abel, b. 1804, has been conflated with other Abels from North Carolina.

There are problems with the profile of Abel: he is listed as having married the same woman twice, but does not show connected to the second wife in the bio. Sources are inadequate.

In looking at his supposed father, John, there are sourcing issues as well.

I descend from a different Abel Shields, born a bit earlier, who went to North Carolina and married a Quaker woman, although he was not a Quaker. His wife was condemned for marrying out of unity, and is so documented in the Quaker records (see Hinshaw’s Encyclopedia of American Quaker Genealogy for details).

You are correct.  John Shields is not the father of Abel b 1804.  His father is William T. "Uncle Billy" Shields b 1780 Kent Co., DE.  Wm. T. is son of Reubin and Mary (Moore) Shields.  Could this Reubin possibly be brother of your Abel?  Parents of this Reubin were John and Mary (Chipman) Shields.

About 25 years ago we stopped at the library in Kernersville, NC and found a speech that had been given at a Shields Family Reunion in the early 1900's.  From this I was able to tie Wm. and all his children to my Abel b 1904.  Wm. T. did have a son Wm. who migrated to Pettis Co., MO.  The younger Wm. was married to Phoebe Davis in NC and to a Mary in MO.  Wm. T. also had three children who migrated to Bartholomew Co., IN.  Abel, Samuel, and Elisha W.  

Abel b 1804 was first married to Nancy Lindsay Wood 23 Sept 1831.  She died 17 Oct 1841.  He then married Eusebia Folger 19 Jan 1845.

I am familiar with the Abel Shields who moved into Washington Co., IN much earlier than my Abel came to Bartholomew Co., IN.

I am still at a standstill on my Abel Shields b 1804 Stokes Co., NC, son of William and Rebecca (Robertson) Shields.  There were two Abel Shields who were almost the same age.  The other was b 1801 Stokes Co., NC, son of John and Martha (Haisley) Shields.  They are both on the 1840 census in Stokes Co., NC.    Shields 1511 has confused these Abels.  On the site is even a remark by another researcher questioning the parents, etc. that he has entered.  That person mentions a Find A Grave for Abel 1804 and that has correct information.

April 12th I sent a private message to Shields 1511, but have had no response.

My question is, how I should handle this?  After this time, can I go ahead and enter the correct parents and siblings?  I have entered the children of Abel b 1804.  His first wife, Nancy Lindsay Wood,  was already there.  I have also entered his second wife, Eusebia Folger.
