What was it you were wanting?

I want to get on the trusted lists of several people.   I cannot function unless I do.  I can contribute but not until then.  I especially need to know how to access responses I guess and thought I would see how but do not.

Responses to such things as TL access requests would go to your email.   The person may choose to not grant it, but I don't know if they are obligated to let you know they said "no".

While you are waiting for responses to Trusted List access requests, if you have not already added your parents and grandparents, you could start on those.  Unless they have existing profiles and its the Trusted List access for them on which you are waiting.

There is a checkbox at the bottom of each question which asks if you want to receive an email each time someone responds to your question, did you maybe miss checking it?

Marilyn, many Trusted List requests go unanswered because the Profile Manager is no longer active.  You should open the PM's profile and check his or her Contributions to see how recently he or she has been active.  For a recently active member, try sending a Private Message.  For long inactive members or active ones who continue to ignore you, use the Unresponsive Profile Manager process.
