I am working on my husband's lines to Thomas Gray, Jamestowne ancestor. I believe I have found an error in "Adventurers of Purse and Person" 4th Ed, Vol 2. Gray's genealogy begins on p 198. It is possible this has already been discussed....I just want a clarification. Maybe it's just me reading it wrong. I have also sent the info to the membership chair of the CA Company, JS for his input.
1.Thomas Gray has a daughter - 2.Jone/Joan Gray who is the mother of 10.Mary Hux. It states this on p 199 (and WikiTree has it also) but then goes on to pp 201 - 209 using this path to follow down through 10.Mary Hux's gens giving her mother as "Mary(2)" Gray and not Joan.....like this.....
10. Mary (3) Hux, Mary (2) Gray, Thomas (1) Gray
Shouldn't all of these entries read:
10. Mary (3) Hux, Joan (2) Gray, Thomas (1) Gray
It makes a difference if Mary(3) Hux IS the daughter of John Hux's 2nd wife (Mary_____) because there would be no relation at all to Thomas(1)Gray. Mary Hux needs to be the daughter of Jone/Joan Gray for this to work. There doesn't appear to even be a daughter of Thomas Gray named Mary Gray. Take a look if you have the 4th Ed.
I think it's a typo that acquired a life of its own for several pages. I followed it all the way to Samuel Alsobrook, my husband's link.
