How do you account for William Dawson Rosser having a son named Mark Ernest Rosser born 4/3/1877 when Edgar Borning Rosser was born 4/8/1877.  The Edgar Rosser in the 1880 census son of William Dawson Rosser has a birth date of 1875.  There definitely was a son Mark Ernest Rosser born 4/3/1877.  I am a descendant of Edgar Borning Rosser and his birth date was definitely 4/8/1877.

In the 1900 census, William D and Lucy are living in Peavine, Walker Co., GA:

Rosser, William D, head, b June 1835, 64; m 43 years; farmer
Lucy J., wife, b July 1837, 62, 7 births, 6 living
William A., son, b Oct 1866, 33, school teacher
Harry E., son, b Sep 1874, 25, farmer
Mark E., son, b Apr 1877, 23, farmer

A possible location for Edgar is the Ed Rasser in Ty Ty Colquitt, Georgia, b May 1877, 23, single, a teamster (boarding in the home of another, slightly older, teamster, John Morgan.
In 1870 the William/Lucy Rosser family is in Chattooga, GA.

In the 1860 census, William & Lucy with a 9-month old son Lucius are in Jacksonville, Calhoun Co., Alabama. He's a merchant.

Was hoping to find evidence of Lucy's parents through the census, but no luck. Per the 1900 census they were married 43 years, translating to 1857. Unfortunately, their marriage records may have burned during the Civil War, as so many southern records did.

Have you looked for a marriage record?
The Chatanooga thing was bugging me. Peavine Valley, GA is just across the border from Chatanooga, TN. Is is possible that the latter was part of Georgia in 1880? Or perhaps it crossed the border, and tehre was part Chatanooga that was in both states?
Mm... the Comments buttons have disappeared... Bryan, where did you find that data?

I have an external hard drive with many databases taking up nearly 2 TB. I search there before searching online. Soon, I'll have to get another external drive to continue expanding my local archives.
WOW.... does it include the sources?
