Celestine Roy (b. abt 1799 Opelousas) m. Zenon Clement Darbonne. Who were her parents?

I don't see them in the Louisiana marriage index. Have you identified the church they likely attended?
Unfortunately, Louisiana was not in the 1790 or 1800 census as it was French territory at the time.
I obtained my genealogy information from my aunt, who has researched for years. She obtained her information from, it says here, Father Hebert. I assume she meant his books.

What I have is this:
Zenon Simon Clement Darbonne b. 1787? Opelousas

His mother was also a Roy: Genevieve Therese Roy

His father was Jean Baptiste Darbonne.

He married Celestine (Celeste) Roy (1799-1800 to abt 1859). Her parents are not listed, and I have not found any leads when searching the web.

Their children were:

Louis b. 1817 (meaning she was abt 16 or 17 when she had her first)

Pierre b. 1818

Celestine (Celeste) b. 1822

Emelie b. 1828

Clement b. 1830

Clementine b. 1835

Ijack (Isaac?) b. 1839

Joseph b. 1841

Manuel b. 1845

and Roseline b. ???

That's everything I know.

I appreciate your getting back to me and wanting to help.

Thank you.

I'm going to guess that they were Catholic. Well, while the LDS did microfilm the Catholic records for Opelousas, it's not quite the right time frame. See:

https://familysearch.org/eng/library/fhlcatalog/supermainframeset.asp?display=titledetails&titleno=70802&disp=Parish+registers%2C+1776-1806%20%20&columns=*,0,0

It looks like the church there is responsive to requests for lookups. You could start with their marriage record and see if the church record includes her parents' names. Then you could see if they could find her birth record.
