I have been asked to remove a relative from my tree how do I do this

Deleting people on WikiTree leaves holes in the database and is strongly discouraged. You could replace the name of the person with 'anonymous' and remove any data that goes with the person. http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Anonymization

This will better safeguard the person not being added back in by someone else later on.

You can also mark the profile as unlisted so no one but those on your trusted list can see it.

that's a really nice feature: for all the reasons explained.  Perhaps this explanation could be added in the description of privacy features for profiles?
