Linda,  I think it's time for the Unresponsive Profile Manager process.  He joined in 2011, made 17 contributions that day, and has not been back since.  Before submitting the request, you will have to make a trusted list request, send a private message to the profile manager, and post a comment on the profile.  After that, wait 7 days to allow time for a response and, if you don't hear from him, then file the request.

If you have some sources, those could be added as comments for the time being. If they are far enough back, you might be able to send an open profile request including the new sources.
Ok, I'm new at this part of the process. So bear with me.

I saw that a wikitree admin left a post on the PM's profile page, letting them know that wikitree changed their email settings and that their account will be closed soon.

Do I still have to do the three requests, wait a week and then file? Or not because the Wikitree Admin folks are taking care of it?

Going forward with inactive members, I should make the requests on their profile page? I have been doing it on a ancestors page.

I come across in active accounts while Data Doctoring.

Hello Linda.

Joseph Parks Lewis was born in 1846 (150+ years), See

https://findagrave.com/memorial/50791125/joseph-parks-lewis

I have just submited the "Open Profile Request Form". His profile should be open shortly (within one week).

For more information see

Edited to add: Many thanks to the WikiTreers processing the "Open Profile" requests. Joseph's profile is now an "Open" profile.

Thanks Ruben,

I just did some nice edits to Joseph Parks Lewis.

Now I need his son to be Open!

Looks like the Wikitree Admin folks have left a message to Thomas Harrison Lewis the PM.

Do I have to do a request for each profile? Should I be doing it on Thomas' profile page? Should I wait because the Wikitree Admin team is working on this?

Linda
I don't know that they will orphan his profiles with that message on his profile. I think it probably proves already that he isn't responding to emails though, so I would file the unresponsive PM message and request ancestors and descendants profiles to be opened.

Hello Linda.

Accoding to the 1900 Census, Walter Lewis was born in Oct. 1879, see

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MSGK-DT1

There is no source on his death, but most probably, he died after 1921, so the 150+/100+ years rule doesn't apply to "open" his profile.

There is the need to initiate a UPM process to edit Walter's profile.

If UPM process was initiated, the profile could be orphaned so sources and dates could be added to the profile. That census does give a month and year that could be added to the profile, which is better than no dates currently on that profile. There is also an 1880 census that could be added to both profiles https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MZNS-QHW

I added 1880 and 1900 census to Joseph's profile.
What I'm having trouble with is the UPM process is for individual profiles and not for all the profiles of an inactive member. Seems like a lot of time waiting for each profile!

My inactive member is Thomas Harrison Lewis. He did 17 contributions in 2011. Then stopped. I have already done the UPM for John Parks Lewis. Why can't we assume the same for Walter Winston Lewis?

I wish there was an automatic opening of locked profiles after 5 years. There needs to be a cut off.

I'm finding people are not responding who were last active in 2017. I think 5 years is a good amount.
You submit the UPM for one profile for that PM. In the explanation box on the form, if desired, you can state there are no sources and you want to add sources. You also have an option to open all ancestors and descendants of the profile you are submitting it for. The Admin person, even without the additional note, may orphan all profiles of that member.

I have sent the form in for members inactive for a year. It depends on what you are trying to do, but it also depends on how active that member was, or has been, whether all profiles are orphaned or not. When we have profiles with no dates, it is especially problematic because then we get duplicates. With inactive members and locked profiles, we need admin to do the merges also.
