Under what circumstances do G2G questions get hidden?

+9 votes
Earlier today a question that I asked in G2G was "hidden," together with its answers, by a user who is identified as a Leader and who I'm guessing might be staff. (The hidden status means the question isn't visible on the Questions page and can't be accessed from its subject tags, but it is still visible to me because I have emails that link to it.)

There were no privacy issues associated with my question and I didn't ask for it to be hidden. Rather, the question-and-answer series was about a request for an improvement to WikiTree.

Under what circumstances would a question be hidden? Does this perhaps signify that the staff is working on the requested improvement? Or does it perhaps mean that the improvement is not considered feasible?

I am awaiting the response to your question, Ellen, with great anticipation!!!

I would expect that if the staff is working on the requested improvement then they would be only too happy to report that it is in the pipeline.  I would also expect that if the improvement is not considered feasible, they would provide an answer to that effect.

It has been my impression that WikiTree is all about communication, so this sounds very un-WikiTree-like and is very disturbing to me.

Hi Ellen,

If you want to forward me the question you are referring to I can take a look. You can send it to eowyn@.

We try not to hide questions and comments unless they are very inappropriate or out of line.  We also hide questions where people are seeking info on living persons.
