While the profile is essentially unsourced, do you have sources to support who think the father is?
Jacob Calvin Newsom wed Lucy Barham are the parents which I have listed. This seems reasonable as bearing his mother's maiden name as a middle name is often done. There is documentary evidence also, but it will  take time. I have no Kentucky connection. Also, some mention of American Indian connection. Three DNA tests on me and not a trace
The headstone and grave of Jacob Calvin Newsom 1762-1840 is located in Newsom-Hendrix cemetery  in Forsyth County, North Carolina, United States.
Jacob Calvin Newsom I  born 1727-died 1778-11-12 is the father of Jacob Calvin Newsom II born 1762-died 1840.11-16 whose tombstone and grave are located in Newson-Hendrix cemetery in Forsyth County, NC, USA.

It might help if you explained WHY you believe that the name that is currently connected as his father, is not his father and also state what source/proof/evidence you have. Thanks.

There can be multiple people with same name. Relationship changes should not be made without checking with PM who may have more information.
I don’t see any source mentioning his middle name as “Barham” as mentioned could be given as the claim is his mothers maiden name was used as his middle name.

Interesting. Family search shows parents as those he is connected to. Also his FindAGrave. Added a few sources to his profile to help

Andrew, that is a great find!!  One problem is that it says Harrison is the son of George, but wikitree Harrison Newsom-374 has his father as Lewis, not George.
I added a comment to Harrison Newsom-374 profile that you had found those sources, noting that it states that Harrison's father is George, not Lewis.  That profile has limited sources, also.

Thank you Linda for your help yes

Thanks to Linda Peterson for determining there were two Hartwell Newsomes of the same generation who have been confused as the same man:

# [[Newsom-298|Hartwell Barham Newsom]] (b 1801 NC, d abt.1861 VA)

# [[Newsome-285|Hartwell (Newsome) Newsom]] (b 1803 NC, d aft 1870 KY)
