Does anyone know about Benjamin Gleason Bennett, born about 1818 in Chester, PA or possibly NJ? I am completely unable to find info on his parents. He married Anna White from Maryland. They had at least 9 kids, and another child named Catharine A Hastings? The children were born in Ohio.
On some census documents he says he is born in NJ, but the majority of them say PA. He lived in Dayton Ohio for a long period of time as well as Kansas and Missouri. I can't find info about his parents or Anna White's parents.
In one census report BG Bennett states that his father came from Scotland, but others say he was born in PA. One family member has told me that they heard a story about him being a stowaway on a ship, and that he was adopted by a captain named bennett? Not even sure if that's true, but it's interesting.
