I have lots of info on him as a doctor, teacher, pharmacist, and postmaster in McKeesport, Pa., but no history of his young years, family or who his real parents are. Documented to be my 3rd Great Grandfather but drawing mostly a blank on who his parents were....

Hi Pete!  Is this the person? Based on dates and the career path you mention, it seems possible

If so, there are parents shown on the profile.

Let us know if you have some doubt about the parents.

Cheers

Could this be Robert and Annie in 1870? Robert's occupation is 'physician'.  Also, his younger wife is too young to be the mother of the children shown.  Name: Robt Baldridge

This is the person.... The reference you used was my input awhile ago. I had based that on a 1830 census that did not give names of people (other than the male, head of house as was custom back then) but showed a male of about that time frame listed. When I looked at further census 1840 the male was still listed with the right age but still no name attached. In all of my reference material on Robert S. (have no idea what the S. stands for) there is never any mention of his parents or siblings. I am even thinking something to do with the Cherokee Nation (?)..... I have yet to find any definitive proof of who is parents were !
