William Henry Lang (1853 - 1941)ThruLines connection

William Henry Lang was born September 5, 1853 in Dickinson, Franklin county, New York the son of John Joseph Lang (1818-1885) and Mariah (Muriel) Jane DeLamater (1834-1915). He married Roseann Burns see her FindAGrave. He died September 29, 1941 in Colusa County, California.

We need help adding sources showing more of a connection to his parents. I added him to these parents as the dna and ThruLines on ancestry seem to connect me with him and my maternal side.

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you wikitree family

Note: This Lang lineage goes back to England as John Joseph Lang is England born. Also, didn’t know the Lang family or some of the kids migrated all the way from New York to California was it because of a Gold Rush? The land for farming or ranching? Jobs?

Family search shows father John Joseph Lang having two wives with 6 children from each so more research needed to confirm he had two wives.

1870 census doesn’t show William Henry Lang at home with John Joseph Lang his father or Maria Jane Delamater.

Possibly his death mentioned Here

This might be him in the 1860 Census?  Although there are lots of other siblings.

This is the family group and I haven’t seen the 1860 census before of them. So he is definitely per this census at least the son of John Joseph Lang. Wow!

Both women mentioned as wives are a Jane in the name however Mariah Jane Delamater had a significant age gap as the other Jane I believe was closer in age. So 1860 could be the biological mother of William.

The Jane mentioned here was born in England as Jane Delamater wasn’t.

Jane Stuart Kennedy 1830-1908 was she born in England per family search New Jersey?

Maria Jane Delamater 1834-1915 per family search Vermont

Is that Jane from England a 3rd Jane? Born in abt 1824 laugh

My theory is this  the Jane Stuart is not a part of his genealogy. The Jane born in England passed away and he remarried Maria Jane Delamater had more kids. The New Jersey Jane makes no sense in this.

If you look at the suggestions from family search there's a census showing the family in New York.

Thank you I’m checking out the family search and slowly adding sources however his mother on family search is not Maria Jane Delamater it’s a Jane Stuart Kennedy? Need a source connecting the parents. laugh

Well one thing about this Lang group is John Joseph Lang had plenty of kids which helps laugh

I wonder if some of the siblings moved to MA?  Seems likely from the obits on John Jr and Georgiana.

Your in the right vein. Yes. I haven’t added all the kids yet however my ancestry tree does have Mary E. Lang married to Charles Jones. These are them. I think per the Jane Alice Kellogg obit and newsclip they were asking the same question 100 years ago as the marriage certificate is mentioned of the parents John Joseph Lang and Jane. laugh
