I want to show the same image on four related profiles. Is there a preferred way of doing this?

It matters if you just want it on the side bar of each profile, or in the biography text of them.
Thank you for that distinction Melanie. Presumably, to show in the bio text, the image needs to be individually uploaded.

One image can be used in the bio text of any number of other profiles. You only need to upload it once.  On the image page - over on the right there are examples of the text to use to place them in the Bio text field. You can change the image size, and align them to left right or centre. Cut and paste the examples and see how it works.

Use Inside Text

To use this image inside the text of a profile, try pasting this snippet of code into the bio/text section:

{{Image|file=Leighton-1695-1.jpg
|caption=Leighton family grave in Highgate Cemetery
}}

To align it on the right side of the page, in a medium size, with a different caption:

{{Image|file=Leighton-1695-1.jpg
|align=r
|size=m
|caption=Here's an image.
}}

I tend to use a space page for images I want in the bio text, but not on the side bar.  Dorothy Wall's profile has images in the bio, as does Fanny Fern's. The only image on a profile that you cannot "house" elsewhere to keep it off the side bar is the primary image.  All others can be spaced.

Thank you for all your helpful replies. Have now experimented with these options and have got satisfactory results. Again, many thanks.
If you are adding images to biography text boxes, please do include the label parameter for those using screen readers.

On those profiles I linked up there ^^ you can see on mouseover "floating" text with a (hopefully helpful) description of the image.  The importance of alt text (aka the label parameter on the image code) was highlighted only a day or so ago by one of our blind members.

Another point is - an image needs to be on a public profile, or it cannot be viewed, showing as either white-space or an error, in the biography.
Now done. Thank you Melanie.

Upload the image to one of the profiles, and then on the 'edit image' page, (towards the bottom left) you can also select which other profiles it refers to.
