Any tips on finding origin of John Pearce, Sr of Wales?

First, let me start that all of my names are names of ancestors: Pearce Bray Sloan.  The furthest I could find of my Pearce was John Pearce (Pearse) Sr. suspected to be born ~1600 in Wales.  He was reportedly a Baptist there, and emigrated with his father and two brothers (no names)-family folklore.  He lived in Middleton, New Jersey first recorded in 1681 (where he bought 16 acres), and he continued to live in Monmouth County until his death ~1758.  There are a tooooon of court documents for him from 1681 to 1757, like yearly in court for one matter or another.  But I cannot find anything prior to 1681 of his origin or lineage.  He married a Sarah and had three sons Joseph, John Jr., and William in Monmouth County ~1690-1705.

Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  I cannot create his page yet since he is pre-1700.

It might help if you started adding sources to your later generations. This often helps point people to places to investigate.

In the meantime you can add a research notes header (immediately above the sources header), and add all info you have for John on his eldest child. Then you can just transfer it to his profile when you make it.
