Can I create an alias profile for a place study?

Hi! I'm thinking of entering information from church books into Wikitree, not knowing if I am related to these individuals. But I don't want to clutter my watchlist. Am I allowed to create a "fake" profile, i.e., a second identity for myself, with the purpose of that place study and enter the church records that way? Or is there a better way?

Have you joined, or started, a one place study?  The associated page/ pages with a OPS would be the best place for such.

Second profiles, outside adoption, are not permitted.
Ah, thanks. Didn't know that this is called a "One Place Study". If I have a project sticker for that study, will it then not add the profiles to my watchlist?
I don't know. I haven't had any dealings with any place studies.

Maybe if you edit your question and add the tag for OPS. (I think it might be one_place_studies with the underscores, but am not sure.  If you start typing, it might auto-appear.)
No, if you start up a One Place Study and get a sticker, it will not add profiles to your Watchlist.  You can "orphan" profiles (so they are not on your Watchlist) also but, if they have your OPS sticker on them, they will remain in the Study. :)

Hey Christian. I sense the church records are for our region around Uelzen in Niedersachsen, would I be correct? If so, we could make a subpage to the existing Uelzen space page I have already. If this is elsewhere, perhaps look at it for guidelines as to how to make your own.

Dear Steven! With Uelzen I was lucky, most of the information I needed was already available at genealogy.net. I was thinking of Sievershausen parish, Burgdorf district, Hanover. Later another one on my wishlist would be Iserlohn, Westphalia.

Your Uelzen space page is a good example, thank you!
Thanks Christian. I'm sure that no one will take issue with a space page on one of those other parishes or districts. I would hope we could get more people in the Germany project focusing on various locations with their research which would lead to more of these One Place Studies.
