I have a set of "circumstantial" facts, but cannot make the final connection between Hattie Davis [[Davis-85149]] and a person I am nearly positive is her: Harriet Amanda Davis buried here with her husband George Schaefer and their children. (harriet-amanda-schaefer at FindAGrave).

Circumstance #1: One person named Hattie A. Davis, the other named Harriet Amanda Davis. Born same year, both in Suffolk County, NY.

Circumstance #2: I have 1900 and 1900 Census records for Hattie Davis (1881 - ) ... then no mention of her. The other person - Harriet Davis - is married to George in the 1915 NY Census, but there is no record of a "Harriet Davis" before that date.

#Circumstance #3: Harriet Schaefer (1881-1959) is buried nearby the grave of George L'Hommedieu Davis (Cedar Lawn Burial - Find A Grave)  - who is Hattie's brother. Other than George and her children, there are no other historic Schaefer burials because George was born in Germany and came to America probably around 1910.

Does anyone have a marriage record source for marriages in New York that were recorded at the County level? Because I cannot find one. The marriage has to be between 1900 and 1915 - if Hattie is Harriet.
