My Paternal GFather is Randal Armon DeLong. I want to enter my /deceased Father.  There was a name correction as my father chose to be Thomas de Long although I think he was born with a middle Name which he deleted at the same time.

The fact is the name showed up as

Mr. Thomas de Long formerly DeLong.   don't want the formerly DeLong

Thomas de Long Jr.

WikiTree profile: Randall DeLong

If the last name when he was born was DeLong, then that is what it was (Last Name At Birth).  If he later changed the name to de Long, then that is what will show as the Current Last Name.  Because both were legitimate names, they will both show on the profile.  Just as a married woman who takes the last name of her husband will show her LNAB and her CLN, appearing as "Mary Margaret O'Hara formerly Kelley".

I edited the question to remove the email address. Thomas can be contacted here through WikiTree communications channels. I also added a link to the profile he asked about and tags for the topics in the question.

Thomas, you should request Trusted List access for the profiles of your grandfather and father (there is link to do this under Collaboration on the right-hand side of his profile page). The profile manager seems to be related to your family by marriage; if you are not already acquainted with him you can introduce yourself in your Trusted List request. In your Trust List request, identify the other members of the DeLong family that you would like to be able to edit.

In the meantime, if your father is https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/DeLong-1802 you can connect your profile to his by using the Add Father link on the edit page for your profile (insert DeLong-1802 in the blank). As Melanie and Gaile have explained, if he was born DeLong and changed his name to de Long, then DeLong needs to be his Last Name at Birth and de Long should be his Current Last Name.

Thomas, first - and most important - you need to edit your question and remove your email address.  Putting it on a public forum like this only invites spam (or worse) and any member can contact you by sending a private message, so it's not necessary here.

Based on what you said is displayed for your father's name, if you edit his profile I expect that you will see that his LNAB (Last Name At Birth) is DeLong but his CLN (Current Last Name) is de Long.  His LNAB should be exactly what it was when he was born.  If he later changed it then the new name should be in the CLN field.  Based on what you said, it sounds like his name is showing correctly, in accordance with how WikiTree displays names.  If DeLong was not his correct LNAB then you can change that if you're on the trusted list for his profile.
