category in two languages

I created a category for a town, Vlaardingen, South Holland, because there wasn't an existing entry under South Holland I then discovered that there is a separate Zuid-Holland, Nederland category, which already has an entry for the town. It's a bit confusing, I'd say. Wouldn't one category for the province and the town be sufficient?

There is also a Template:Aka which claims to be able to connect category hierarchies in different languages, but I'm not sure how to use it.

Any advice?

Yes, that's how it's done. I had a quick look and the AKA was done incorrectly, so I fixed that.

Thanks, the link between Category: South Holland, Netherlands and the other one now works, although it still seems a bit odd to me to have 2 categories for the same topic, which have different contents. Would it not be preferable to redirect one to the other, if such a feature exists?

No, the profiles will show in both. Please leave the aka as I left it and do not edit it. It will take a day to catch up in the database.
I see, thanks.
