Sri Lanka was formerly Ceylon

Sorry, I'm not sure who to direct this to.

Prior to 1972, Sri Lanka was known as Ceylon.

Wikitree doesn't provide this option in addresses.

I'm finding errors where Ceylon has been used correctly.

Can this be updated?

The drop-down placenames are only suggestions, and they are taken from the FamilySearch website. So Wikitree cannot update them, because they are created and stored elsewhere. But it is not required to use the drop down placenames. I almost never do.

Like Barry, I don't use those drop-down suggestions.  But what do you mean errors?  Are you getting Suggestions?  If so, and you know you are right, you have the option of marking them as false.

If you are getting suggestions, it is a good idea to open a G2G about getting locations added to the table that Ales uses for location.  See Isabelle's current g2g that could be added to

I added Ceylon to the Locations table, so it will be recognized. I also added the colony variants and it looks like this.

Ceylon 766 0 Yes 1948–1972 no
Sri Lanka 613 2 Yes no
British Ceylon 7 0 Yes 1796–1948 no
Colony of Ceylon 1 0 Yes 1796–1948 no
Nederlands Ceylon 1 0 Yes 1640–1796 no
Dutch Ceylon 0 0 Yes 1640–1796 no
