how do I make a scrolling box?

So, I used to have it in my bookmarks, but now I can't find it again. I am working on the Magna Carta Surity Barons and some of the profiles are VERY long, but have some wonderful information. I would like to put a lot of the quoted material in scroll boxes to make the profile cleaner. Where are those darn things?

I don't know if this will survive this box or not. Nope, enclose the text below in arrows Replace ([ ]) with (< >)

[blockquote style="outline:black solid thin; height: 100px; overflow-y: scroll">
Your Text goes here.

And so on and so on
</blockquote]

You can vary the height by changing the height: 100px. 25 px is one line, 50 px is two, etc.

? Is that allowable Wiki code or the dreaded non-standard HTML ?
I assume its Wiki markup, but don't know, I just use it. Hope someone can so advise us.
Perfect! Thanks Tom!

<div style="height:10em; overflow:auto; border: 2px solid #B18904">
your text goes here
</div> <br><br>

actually, the 10em is variable - it determines the number of text lines that will fit in the height of the box and the 2px is also variable - it determines the thickness of the border.

As Anne stated above, this is most likely not in the "recommended" set of codes.  It would probably be a good idea to wait until all the cow chips have finished passing through the air moving equipment before going to the trouble of putting code for it in profiles when it is likely to have to be removed soon.

Robin, I see Tom Bredehoft has provided the specific wiki formatting you needed. However, no one has yet answered your general query regarding "Where are those darn things?".

Among other places, they are located on WikiTree as Tons Tweaks.

As I mentioned earlier, some of this is probably not reccommended code
