I have information to contribute to the profile of Johannes Scholes. This is what I can add:
These are the sources I am using:
- Lancashire Online Parish Clerk
- Ancestry.com search
My question is that I am unable to distinguish between two baptism records for Johannes (John) Scholes/Scoles. Both are in the same parish of Haslingden and have the same Father name of John. One is for 1691 and the other for 1692. I have looked at the original images of both sources. Here are the records:
Baptism: 5 Apr 1691 St James, Haslingden, Lancashire, England Johannes Scoles. Abode: Town. Register: Baptisms 1683 - 1711, Page 14, Entry 490. Source: Original Parish Register at Lancashire Archives.
Also, "Johannes flls John Scoles de Town". Lancashire, England, Church of England Baptisms, Marriages and Burials, 1538-1812. Parish Registers. Haslingden.1620-1744. Pr 3016/1/3. Also, Baptism: 29 May 1692 St James, Haslingden, Lancashire, England Johannes Scoles - fil Joh. Scoles Abode: Town Register: Baptisms 1683 - 1711, Page 15, Entry 577 Source: Original Parish Register at Lancashire Archives.
How should I proceed, please?
Should I contact one of the pre-1700 projects or know about any style guidelines before proceeding? Thank you!
