Merge Vernon-160 into Vernon-25 and Swynfen-9 into Swynfen-3.

What are your sources for saying these merges need to happen?

Ros,  I was asked a question by a WikiTree member about Vernon-25 and in responding found Vernon-160 which I was able to adopt and initiate a merge.  One source, History of Tong, Shropshire, page xi and 43 is noted on Vernon-25.

Lois,  I attempted the merge more than once, but it did not appear, maybe because I'm not pre1500 certified.....the recent pre1500 changes may have affected procedures.

You can propose a merge if you are not pre-1500 certified; you just can't complete it.

My guess is that you are trying to do some other sort of editing at the same time, which you would not be certified to do.  What exactly are the steps you are taking?

Also:
Swynfen-5 was born in 1577, and Swynfen-3 was born in 1425, 150 years earlier.  In what way are these duplicates of each other?
Vernon-160 would have been 14 at the marriage of Vernon-25, which of course is possible in that era - but do you have a source which shows this early marriage?

Well, I initiated the Vernon merge, so it works.

Ros, I was away with a guest. I haven't had a problem with a merge before and only studied the data.....I will see if it happens again.  The data shows a marriage date entered on 5 Aug 2015.....appears to reference Richardson.  First son would appear to be born when the couple were of age. The system had a glitch causing it to be impossible to merge Swynfen-9 and Swynfen-3.  I was able to work a bit of magic and got those two profiles merged.

Once you approve the merge for the duplicate William profiles, I or another pre-1500 certified person can merge those as well.

Darlene,  I checked Swynfen-3......merged as requested.  I, then, approved Vernon-160 into Vernon-25.....now, awaiting pre-1500 assistance.  Thankyou.

It was another glitch.  I was able to reject the match and then repropose and complete it.  All done!  Thanks for spotting the duplicates, John!
