Melissa, I'm confused. If Joseph Allen Warren was the son of Abigail Allen, then his mother would have been 75 when he was born. Is there an intervening generation?

ETHAN ALLEN WARREN born about 1802, son of Abigail
You are the man!

Parents of Abigail

Name: Job Allyn Marriage Date: 16 May 1777 Marriage Place: Windsor, Connecticut, USA Spouse: Abigail Mather Source Information Ancestry.com. Connecticut, U.S., Church Record Abstracts, 1630-1920 [database on-line]. Provo, UT, USA: 2013.

Job was a colonel in the Connecticut army-American Revolution - died intestate- declaration he was father of Abigail based on SAR and DAR records

Thank you.

I had someone on this website tell me that Job Allyn was NOT Abigail's mother.

So at this point I am trying to confirm if  I am right or the person who told me I had the wrong parentage is right.  I went back to Job Allyn 1753 on Wiki not managed by me and looked for Abigail and found the other managed by Kenworthy entry that said Abigail married Henry Halsey.  It gives no death date but FAG says 16 Jun 1816 but no birth date or parents.  Henry it seems went on to marry twice more to sisters.  I tried connecting with the website address on Ancestry but get the message said it is no longer available.

Yes, I did get the relationship wrong.

Thanks again,

Melissa
I have done extensive research the past 5 years on the "old" families, primarily for Donnie Blackstone. It was the custom and practice of these old families to "keep" names. The name ALLEN as a middle name for 2 of Joseph Augustus Warren's sons and SEVERAL grandsons is an extraordinary indicator that his wife Abigail was Abigail Allen and that Abigail Allen was the daughter of Abigail ALLYN as the ALLYN changed spelling to ALLIN and ALLEN in later years on Connecticut land and census records.

Abigail Allen Warren may not be the daughter of Job Allyn granted, but I'd go with the fact she was for now until whoever told she wasn't can provide evidence she wasn't.. In the absence of documents in some areas of colonial America, reliance should and must be placed on PROPINQUITY and custom.

You can always write in the bio of Abigail that parentage is probable but speculative and use what I have explained above as reasoning for the connections.
Thank you.

Please look at the other entry and see if you can find facts that either corroborate or dismiss his theory.

I appreciate all your help.

Melissa
