I have found some bills of sale for slaves in my Howard ancestry.

I would like these to be contributed if they have not been already.  The surname is Howard and most of these sales were done in South Carolina.  I also have seen some wills. They have willed the slaves children to the children of the slave owner.  ugh!

I see the Bill of sale for the girl named “Rose” for $400 which is equivalent to $9,055.63 In 2021 value. Very sad time in American history. This was in the year 1805. So it’s unlikely she was living in post civil war times.

Reading these bills of sale are very shocking. But I don't know if the info could be helpful. There are so many of these sales bills. And so Many to John Howard. either it's the same guy or more than one John Howard in SC selling People! I don't know for sure if he the same JH as my JH. Either way it's dreadful.
Working on Elias his sons profile and apparently he married a 14yr old girl and he was 34. Still adding sources etc.
