Export tree to gramps

Hi,

I used to use gramps to build my family tree. Now I importet practically all of it to WikiTree. If I add new people now, kann I export them to my gramps again? I did not find any export function, but I like to have it locally on my computer and not only on the web...

Thanks :)

Does Gramps accept GedComs?

If so you can export you Watchlist to a GedCom.

Gramps does accept Gedcom files. The only problem is all of the text end up in the notes section of Gramps. So all of your sources will be all together with unrecognized lines. You can link the wikitree profile to the gramps File by adding the web address to the Internet tab and use the jump to icon to go back to the wiktree profile.

FYI: Yes Gramps accepts gedcoms...

When you import the GEDCOM to Gramps there will be a note "Records not imported into INDI (individual) Gramps ID XXXXX Empty note ignored " in this note you will find the profile narrative in raw Wiki syntax, so all [[links]] and {{templates}} and <references> will be included in the note as they appear on the edit screen.

Also the wikitree-id will be included as an unnamed event.

I don't think the Wikitree gedcom output includes images - you would probably have to handle those manually.

Trees exported from Wikitree do not include source data. At least that was the case when I tried it.

They do not include source data in a format that can be interpreted by gedcom software, however any sources mentioned in the biography will remain (as they appear on the edit page) in the notes already mentioned by Joseph and myself.
