Large Norwegian probate after childless bachelor

I'm going through a series of probate protocols, and link up everybody mentioned in the probates of my OPS parish Solum, Telemark, Norway. I recently came across the probate after a Svend Clausen, who died childless, and in addition was the only surviving child of his parents. Thus, his inheritors are his aunts. uncles, and where they are deceased, their descendants. This will invariably lead to long enumerations of cousins, and a veritable gold mine for genealogists.

I'm uncertain of the legal terms involved, and will be grateful if anyone can tell whether my rendering of the event in English is intelligible.

I can understand it.

Poor guy - his contribution to posterity being as a cross check point for the genealogy of a whole family branch.

Edit: changed from answer to comment.

Eva, he's still left a lot more to posterity than many others frown

Although I appreciate your input, for you, as a fellow native Scandinavian, I think it's a lot easier to make sense of my rendering than it might be for eg. an American who lacks our cultural background.

For instance, Svend had his legal capacity revoked due to insanity. The term is "umyndiggjort" in Norwegian, and I believe that the corresponding Swedish term is "omyndigförklarat". I don't know if there's an exactly corresponding word in English, but I figure that "legal capacity revoked" and "legal minor" are close.

I had no problem understanding it. I'm not sure "legal minor" is quite the right term; that's generally used to mean someone who's under a certain age. Someone who's legally incapacitated will have a guardian like a minor would, but the status isn't the same.
Sharon, thank you for the term "legally incapacitated" which seems to cover what I'm after.

Yesterday I was busy with a sick dog, and didn't get around to reply.
