James Bragg, son of Thomas & 'Molly' Newport?

Hello everyone,

I have not been able to find a definitive source that James Bragg (-787) is a son of Thomas Bragg (-526) and 'Molly' Newport (-238), and perhaps no such record exists.  An unrecognized source lists a different spouse [Elizabeth Lewis, daughter of William Lewis (b:1573) and Elizabeth Houghton (1575-6 Jul 1607)] rather than spouse Elizabeth Cirke on WikiTree.

Thank you for your help with this question and with past  questions.

There is a birth record in Ancestry for James Bragg, born August 19, 1616, in Stratford St. Mary, Suffolk - father named as Robart. There is a marriage record for Robart to Ann Wettinge, Stratford St Mary, March 28, 1608
If he married in Suffolk, this is probably your James
Thank you Eddie.  I feel that my ancestor James Bragg is most likely the one on record born to Thomas Bragg and 'Molly" Newport and married to Elizabeth Cirke.  James' brother William from this family is also my ancestor.  I am a direct descendant of 13 Jamestown settlers listed on WikiTree and many more who arrived later and are qualified Jamestown Society ancestors.

Thank you all for your help.
In 1612 Mary "Molly" Newport married Christopher Hedyes
Okay, Miss Gayle, but there are no records connecting them and unless you have good sources, you may get disputes in the future. Open profiles can be edited by others, you know. Twice, in past years, wikitreers wanted my ancestor Wilson Lee to be a white man LOL.

Be well and stay safe

Thanks Eddie.  I only have the one record so far:

Search Results from Historical Records

If you don't mind my asking, where is this record from?
There is also a Marian Mary 'Molly' Newport, (1611-1646), daughter of Christopher Newport and spouse Elizabeth Rose Glanfield), who married William Hatcher Jr.

My ancestor, Thomas Bragg (b:1579) married Mary 'Molly' Newport (b:1586), daughter of Christopher Newport and spouse Katherine Proctor.  (London, England, Church of England Baptisms, Marriages and Burials, 1538-1812)  This record does not list the parents of the bride and groom.

Thomas Bragg was on the voyage aboard the Susan Constant with Admiral Newport to what would become Jamestown, VA.
I'm not trying to give you a hard time and I apologize if I offend you. If the above "Historical Records" is just from a user upload to a "tree" somewhere, it's not a source for wikitree proof. Wills, land records, birth documents, death documents, are sources. Sometime, almost certain, someone will challenge you on family line. I wish you the best. Be well, stay safe.
Eddie, I am not offended.  This is a puzzle that is driving me nuts until I figure it out :-).

Thank you for the proof that WikiTree is correct, as usual, about James' spouse, and thank you for the record I needed to attach James to the Bragg/Newport family.
You're welcome. Although my father has the same first name as I do, when he was a youngster, he used to pretend that he was Barney Oldfield, the race car driver. Most of his friends from high school days called him Barney.
