How visible are Wikitree profiles

I’d like to send links to some of the profiles I’ve been working on to family members but they are not registered Wikitree users. Will the profiles be visible to them or can they be seen only by registered users?

The colour of the privacy level "lock" determines how much can be seen to those logged in, and those not logged in.

If your profiles are open, or public locks, then pretty much whatever is on the profile will be see-able.
Thanks Melanie,  I'm very much a novice with wikitree so have to ask what might sound as basic questions

You don't get the knowledge if you don't first ask the questions.  smiley

A concern about what can and can't be seen is a fair enough question to ask.

Very good point. One I shall have cause to remember I'm sure as I get more into this profiling business

There should be no problem sending links of profiles to non-members. Off the top of my head, I would say that is a good thing, as it may encourage new members.

On any profile you manage, there is a button 'Profile (Public View)' if you click that, you can see what a visitor will see. Of course, profiles of Living people are still mostly hidden as per privacy regulations.

At the bottom of a profile, just above comments, there is a button 'Cousin Bait' which will show you other ways of attracting new members.
