Pvt. Charles G. Avery was a private in the 21st Ct Vols Co. E. Died as a P.O.W. at Richmond, Va. and of his wounds wounds received in the Battle of Drewry's Bluff, Va., July 21, 1864.

One question remains. Was Charles married or have any children? An obituary would be great although I can’t seem to locate this yet

Apparently he has to FindAGrave memorials per Family Search? Stones engravings seem to show two different men?

Challenge: try to add his place of death appropriate for the year. Richmond Virginia 1864 it seems the town was not part of Henrico County.

Opinion: Richmond Va was the Capitol of the CSA prob one big reason the south lost the war as the capitol was impossible to defend against the Mighty Union ! Gettysburg another blunder. History is so Amazing and very interesting!
