I want to contribute to the deep genealogy on our shared tree. Here are people I can add, along with dates and locations:

Here are the sources I am using:

Should I contact one of the pre-1700 projects or know about any style guidelines before proceeding? Thank you!

It looks like you have copied the information from someplace that has a source indicated by [1] in what has been entered, but that source information has not been added to the profile.

Sources are needed on wikitree profiles so we know where you are getting information from.

It was copied from the son's Wikipedia page at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Beaumont_Neilson and the son's biography (James Beaumont Neilson ) has been copied from another website http://www.kirkcudbright.co/historyarticle.asp?ID=60&p=22&g=4

Hola, es cierto, no puse la fuente ayer que ingresé los datos, pero acabo de hacerlo, gracias.
Así es, gracias por hacermelo ver, acabo de ingresar la fuente..
Complete copy from any other site should not be done on Wikipedia, especially without something clearing stating on the profile where you copied it from. That is called plagiarism. You should be summarizing the information into wikitree.

I don't see a Sources section, references, or Wikipedia being mentioned, or any of the other sources that are referenced on the Wikipedia page.

I've added his baptismal information from the indexes at Scotlands People and Family Search. His mother's name is given in that record.

Hola Jacqueline,

I will respond in English as my Spanish is so unused it will be unclear, I think.

James Beaumont Neilson is interesting and as a patent holder he could be included in the Scotland Project as a notable person. Do you want his profile to be protected by the Scotland Project? You would still have control over the development of his profile as his profile manager. We could perhaps work together to provide an English translation as well as a Spanish version.

His father and grandfather, and further back, probably are not "famous" enough to be included in the Project. We try to limit the Project profiles in the post-1700 era to only those who are in some way noteworthy.

Let me know what you would like to do, and if I can help in some way.
