Want to create attractive, interesting, and accurate profiles? Then you need to join the Profile Improvement Project (PIP)!

PIP is dedicated to helping you make YOUR managed profiles some of the best on WikiTree. As you embark on our Voyage, you will be assisted by one of our friendly and knowledgeable Guides. You will learn how to create fun, interesting, informative, well-sourced profiles that adhere to WikiTree standards, styles, and guidelines.

If you discover that you're just automatically improving profiles as you randomly fix the large and small problems on WikiTree profiles, consider joining the Profile Improvement Project. Read the Project Page and follow the steps in the "How to Join" section. Add an answer below to get started on the Voyage.

Thank you.

I hope we get some nice new PIP Members! laugh

I'll try to be nice!

I'd like to join the project because I really need to learn.

I started my WikiTree years ago, sort of forgot about it, had to re-password it and jumped back in.

But I seem to have less time to work on it than before. My computer data is around 50gig with high rez scans and all. My goal would be to fix up one person and feel confident they are at rest for a period before the next. But all the information or potential information keeps flowing and then I get feeling overwhelmed. So I stop for a while. That’s where I am now. So I will be reading the posts via “following” but I may not be very active in the group. Till I get into genealogy mode again. If you will have me.

Thanks, Kirk

Enjoy it, Kirk,

Just remember to try to be more active during the voyage as you have an assembled set of skills to master.

I have no idea what I’m doing, but would like to learn!

I too started to feel overwhelmed. I know I made a lot of mistakes and wanted to go back and start cleaning them up concentrating on one line at a time.  I'll take a look at this.

Thank you Debi,  I will read the information on PIP of which there seems to be a lot and let you know.  I may have questions.

You will have fun on the Voyage, and probably learn a lot about writing profiles. I know I have, and I'm only halfway through! I hope your mentor is as good as mine has been.
Thank you, Ron!  I emailed Debi and finished the first; I think I am leaving the dock without my guide!  Waiting to see if my next ship should sail, or wait for the cruise director.

Having fun, for sure!

I embarked on the Voyage a little while ago. Am about halfway through. My mentor/"navigator " has been a true blessing. I cannot believe how much I've learned from her, and how much better the profiles that I manage are looking. I have a LOT more that need the same TLC. This has probably been the best genealogy project I've ever been involved with.

I'd love to be a part of this.

As I said in 2019, "beginning with my own ancestors' profiles, I vow to create informative and useful profile pages".

My part of the wiki tree has been rather dormant because of my embarrassment and sense of overwhelm with how messy my uploaded profiles look. I’d like to move past having simply uploaded my gedcominto building clean, robust, easily comprehended profiles.

Having created well beyond my share of marginal profiles I figure it is time to join the Profile Improvement Page to gain more knowledge in how to find and address issues with the many profiles I have to clean up and avoid some of the problems in the future.  :-)

I would love to be part of the Profile Improvement Project.

I have been a genealogist for about 40 years now, but a WikiTree member for only about six months. In addition to posting my extensive family tree, I have thoroughly enjoyed adding/improving/connecting profiles of numerous lesser-known notables. I look forward to working with the team to ensure my profiles are living up to community standards.

I seriously need help on my profile presentation and the process associated with it, my ancestors are surely shaking their heads at how they are being presented to the world!

I would love to join.  I have been working on connecting my tree and now am going through and beginning to work on the profiles.  I would like to try and do it well from the start, or as close as I can get it, haha.  Just finished my paternal grandfather's profile [[Schreffler-72|James Schreffler]] and want to start with those close to me and work outwards.  Thank you!

Hi Debi, I am interested in the PIP. Is there someone who might look at a couple of profiles that I have created/revised for feedback to see if I am on the right track? Thank you!
