recording NPE start events on ancestors with YDNA testing.

Say I am working with a profile and I have a YDNA Y-700 kit, it's on the profile.  This person is inside the NPE event and we have discovered the source of the NPE event, let's say for academic purposes it's the 3G grandfather, his father was not who we think he was but someone else.  My question is this, how do I get the system DNA propagation to STOP propagating the labels for this person from the 4G grandfather BACK?

Also for the record, I will not be posting their ID here so please don't ask.

Hi Ed

I think the only way to do that is to unlink the 4g grandfather as the father of the 3g grandfather.  You could instead include an explanation in the biography of the 3g grandfather that it was assumed that this person (and include a link to the profile) was his father but DNA testing has demonstrated that there was an NPE event.  Also a similar message in the biography of the 4g grandfather.

You would obviously want to definitely make sure that the DNA evidence is correct.

I think John is correct. Here's a profile that I think is well explained and the proper parent is connected as father so that the DNA flows: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Hook-46
In the above scenario, the biological father is known.  If the actual father was not known then you can select that the son’s relationship with his father is “non-biological” and that will stop the propagation of the labels.
