Isaiah Pritchett (1816-1860) what is my 3XGGF as well. He has been my “brick wall” ancestor.  But I have been operating on a theory that he changed his name from Prickett to Pritchett. That would mean that his grandmother was Charity Taylor, and the Taylor name goes down the line to Isom Taylor. Here is a screenshot of the relevant section of my ancestry tree:

Well, come out, the screenshot didn’t go through, so I’ll lay it out.

In this scenario, Isaiah Pritchett’s (1816–1860) father was Isaiah Taylor Prickett (1779 -1854), and his mother was Sarah B, Ross (1784–1856).  His GF and GM were Josiah Prickett Senior (1746 to 1847), and Charity Taylor (1739 to 1833).

This is thin, I know, but the Taylor name seems to cross the Prickett/Pritchett boundary, and I seem to recall that through lines indicated that the Pricketts were my ancestors.

I hope someone else can research this. Everyone I’ve spoken to has found that Isaiah Pritchett (1816–1860) is a brick wall.  The name change my explain that.
