Hello! Introducing myself

Hi Everyone! We were invited to introduce ourselves (newbie) so I hope this is an appropriate forum to do so.

My name is Kitrina (Luce) Carlson, I've never really done any genealogical research prior to this, my husband purchased a DNA profile for me for Christmas so this has piqued my interest.

Recent maternal lines are Brenton, Keso, Paddock*

Recent paternal lines are Luce*,  Macheichok

My Luce heritage and my Paddock heritage are well documented by genealogists before me which has made my early efforts very interesting!

My Macheichok line and my Keso line are trickier, my Great Grandpa Valentine Macheichok was Prussian/Polish and come to US in 1904, I haven't really tried to track down any more information on him but even the name Macheichok seems like it's going to be a challenge as it has clearly been Americanized.

My Keso line on the paternal side is German and again I haven't explored it much yet.  It's actualy my Great-Grandma Elsie (Roth) Keso where I think I will encounter a dead-end.  Elsie was adopted from an orphanage in Chicago that later burned down and the records are very sketchy.  There's some speculation that the adoptive mom was ALSO the biological mom, and there's some speculation that she was French Canadian.  My maternal haplotype is X2C1, which seems to be a weird haplotype distributed all over the planet, so who knows how that information might help me!!

I'd be interested in any connections, hints, ideas folks might have about any of my tree, and keenly interested in more information regarding the line of Elsie (Keso) Roth b. ~1893  Chicago, adopted by the Roth family and lived in Michigan and Wisconsin.

Looking forward to getting to know all of you!

Kind regards,

Kitrina (Luce) Carlson

Welcome to the Tree, Kitrina! Glad to have you here. I suspect once you get some foundation profiles in place, you can ask specific questions about specific lines, and members can then assist by collaborating on the answers. It's great that this is like one great big research team, and once we get a project, it might take a little time, but there's lots of people to help find things to assist in your research, or to show you the tips and tricks of the trade.
