Today I am pleased to announce the launching of the Acadian Village Heritage Site / Village Historique Acadien (AVHS) project page.
This interesting project began in early 2020 first with my love of the Acadian Village Heritage Site and my curiosity on how many people I could be related to among the families featured there. I've visited the site several times and one of the homes donated to the AVHS was actually a family home that used to stand less than a kilometre from where I live today.
The initial idea was to create a project page where WikiTree users could check the profiles of the people and families of the Acadian Village to learn a little more about what life was like during certain era's in Acadie in the Mid 1700's to 1900's and more interestingly, see how many of these profiles we are related to. It is almost like a virtual tour and I hope one day, all of you may come and visit the Heritage Site in person.
A very special thank you goes out to Gisele Cormier and her brother Marcel Cormier who put a lot of time and effort researching and editing the profiles in this project. We could not have gotten this far without your interest and work.
I would like to also thank Cindy Bourque and Stephanie Mandarino for their insight and contributions to this page.
We would like to thank the Management and staff at the Acadian Village Heritage Site / Village Historique Acadien for their hard work in preserving Acadian Heritage for all.
The project is still a work in progress as there are still many profiles to be added to this page. We welcome WikiTreers to join in on the fun and add profiles if they wish to do so.
