I am encountering a brick wall regarding my 2 GGrandfather, James Holahan. Census records indicate he arrived in New York in 1866, however I have been unable to locate any passenger records to verify. Also, I have not been able to locate any birth records for James.

An ancestry tree has him born 27 Mar 1831

Thank you, but that is not my James Holahan. He is buried in Holy Cross Cemetery, Brooklyn, NY. George R. Holahan was my Grandfather. Here is the newspaper announcement:

He probably came from co Limerick - there is a single baptism recorded to James Hoolahan & Ellen Howard I can find at Ballingarry co Limerick - Bridget 21/2/1858. SeeParish Register
