I'm not sure I'm understanding your question correcty, so bear with me...

By ancestor, you are asking if Chorlotte preceded Thomas in generational life.  Usually at this time in history, married women (Charlotte Minor) would not have had the same surname has their male descendents (Thomas Minor) unless you are giving us her MARRIED SURNAME instead of her MAIDEN name or if Minor was also Charlotte's maiden name.

Maybe if you can give us a little more info, we can give more help:

1. Do you think MINOR is Charolotte's married surname or her maiden name?  If the former, do you have an idea of her maiden name?

2. Do you know the name of of Charlotte's husband and where, at any point the family may have lived?

3. Do you have any facts about Thomas - when born or died, where lived, what relation he could be to Charlotte (son, grandson, etc.)?
