I have a great grandfather from the Lowlands called Wiilam who was married to a Margaret smith in lat 1800s

Do you know the county or city where he was born?

Did he stay in Scotland over his lifetime and if not where did he marry and where did he die? What country state or province and city for marriage and death if you have it.
I’m pretty sure he was Dumfrieshire, he stayed and had my grandfather and subsequently my father and his brothers from Fife

Thank you .James was my granddad who died before I was born. He, his wife and 3 sons moved to Brisbane ( 2 eldest passed a couple of years ago and I’m estranged from my own father).can anyone look at QLD BDM ?
