Lauraine, this David Herd lived in Blenheim, Marlborough, not in Wetherstones, which is in Otago. That’s over 700km away.

David Herd was the first winegrower in New Zealand. If you are sipping on your Friday night Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, David Herd was the man who discovered how well grapes grow in Marlborough. His statue has been erected at Blenheim airport. A long forgotten New Zealand notable!

Egads!  If anyone could mix them up its me in Canada.  Am really not familiar with any part of New Zealand.  Will make a change later and put him under the correct "David Herd".

Am wondering if these two David Herds are not related in some way?  That is why I am trying to discover just where the one living in Wetherstone is related to James Blair Herd or oe of his brothers or should I say half brothers.
