The DAR has apparently concluded that Samuel is not properly documented as a Patriot. Any remedy?

The SAR and DAR did not properly check the information that had been sent to them previously.  For those that they do not have conclusive information or they have questionable information, that is put on a 'lot' of patriot records on both sites.  It doesn't mean that they were not a Patriot, it just means that they don't have the information that the 'claimed' descendants are accurate.  Those descendants need to provide the birth, marriage, and death information, which may be missing.

It says "Future applicants must provide proof of service (and possibly residence) that meets current standards.", so you'd have to contact DAR for specifics, and then re-apply, I would think.

If your already a DAR member under this individual you don't have to do anything.  However, anyone applying going forward will need to provide new documentation to prove the individual, including the areas the DAR says is not properly documented.  To find out what the DAR is specifically looking for have the Chapter Registrar contact the DAR for specifics.
