I was born Donna Jean Brown on Mar 4, 1967. Mom's name was Shirley Dee Brown (Born: July 6, 1947 - July 19, 2017) Mom & Dad (by adoption on Aug 23, 1973) Married: on Jan 13, 1968, Dad's name was Robert James Shepherd (Sept 16, 1947-Nov 30, 1989). My Step-Dad, William Charles Goodwin (Dec 2, 1946 - Sept 2, 2011) married my Mom on Feb 14, 1996. My Mom's parents ~~ John McPherson - B: Unkown (According to my Grams, he was a couple of years old that she was, born in Scotland) MARRIED: June 27, 1944 in Glenn Meyer, Norfolk County, Ontario, Canada (I have their Marriage Certificate booklet in my Mom's Family Bible) ~~ Leila Mae Curtis (Born: May 22, 1916 - Oct 30, 1991, Norfolk County, Ontario, Canada) According to my Grams, my Grandfather was a couple of years older than what she was, (1910 to 1914 range) and that he told her that he was born in Scotland, Great Britain and that he had 2 brothers (but that she couldn't remember who the oldest and youngest was of the three) and that they had come to Canada in one of those child immigration/emmigration programs like the Little Immigrants Program, "but not that one though" she'd emphasized. That their father was killed while serving in WW I, and that his mother's name was Betsy and (at some point, is my guess) "she drove an ambulance in WW I ". My Uncle (Mom's brother) had hired a private investigator to trace his father's family history, etc and him too. Apparently, my grandparents divorced (no idea when) and he remarried another woman and that they had at least on son together. and that he lived in the Greater Toronto Area, Ontario Canada, and that my Grandfather and his 2nd wife had at least one son whom my Uncle got along pretty good with.My Uncle's 2 oldest daughters both said that they remember their Dad saying that his father had been at my Grams's funeral and had stood at the back during the service."... I am new on this site, but I am trying starting start tracing my BROWN / SHEPHERD/ FAMILY TREE on acestry.ca I am trying to find my Grandfather's history on here and on ancestry.ca, and by searching other record sites as well. My Gr-Grandfather's are not listed as on their marriage license, with the exception of "Mother" and "Father" as my Grams's parents with Evelyn Elizabeth Brown and Otto Howard Brown in brackets of those 2 words for signatures by my Mom, at the back of the Marriage Certificate booklet where the guests signatures are, as well as relatives with the last names of Beecroft, Capell, Curtis, Hill, Hurlburt, Kelly, Massecar, Morrow, Munroe, Rattle. I recognise the Surnames of Curtis as being on my Grams' Dad's side of her family, and the Surname of Massecar being on her Mother's side of her family, but I don't know if I'm related to any of the other 8 Surnames of those who signed at the back of said booklet though. My Gr-Grandmother, Betsy's parents' names are listed as James Clark Stephen and Mary Ellen Ingles Brown as the Bride's parents on a Marriage license that I found, and I also found her parents are listed as James Clark Steven and Agnes Stevens (M.S. - maiden surname: Findlay) on a "1919 DEATHS IN THE PARISH OF MONTROSE IN THE COUNTY OF FORFAR" Record where she is listed to be the Widow of James McPherson Brown, Police Constable - also lists her brother as John Stephen, 22 King Street, Ferryden as well. Until I can afford to spare the cost of the DNA test from ancestry.ca account, it is going to be exremely long, and difficult (if possible, even) endeavor for me :-\ Any and all help would be greatly appreciated by this single Mom. Donna Shepherd (leagal last name as stated on the Final Adoption Order, dated: August 23, in 1973, and signed by the then presideing Judge, with an official red seal on it from the Norfolk County Courthouse, Simcoe, Ontario, Canada ... This legally changed my Surname from Brown to Shepherd on that date.) Both of my younger brothers, and on of my 3 nephews are now passed away as well.

I didn't think that we were to post things on people who are living?

With the exception of the poster, it looks like the rest are deceased.  If the poster wants to share her own data, she's not violating anyone's privacy.

Family Search has Scottish BDM records available that might be of help in your search. Immigration records, Find a Grave and newspaper articles could also be helpful.

Also, if you make profiles for the people you know (Living People are automatically private), that may help with possibly connecting other branches of your family.
