Hi I’m Roy Mathieson lately joined WikiTree and found that my record keeping over 25 years research is not all it should be.
I am Scottish and most of my ancestors are scots, who, until about ten years ago I was happily sourcing on the excellent Scotland’s People website and in the research rooms at the NRS in Edinburgh. I then found that my great grandmother was English so had a steep learning curve finding how to search records down south. It has taken me over eight years now to find all her family and it has been the most enjoyable part of my research, so much so that I wrote a blog about how I used witnesses at marriages and informants at deaths to find the family. The biggest brick wall was her grandfather who I only discovered after a message from my cousin which took me back further than I could have imagined.
I’m still finding my way here and hope I can do so without to many faux pas.
